the painted bride

Instructor: W.G. Clark
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Program: Living + Working for Artists
Term: Fall 2021 (fourth year)

This studio prompted a design for twenty artists to live and work in the old city neighborhood of Philadelphia. This project is about using the place and revealing details about the history of the site. Instead of adding any new buildings, the renovation of three old structures and the addition of a new street-facade creates an urban cloistered garden that acts as a community room to welcome the public and celebrate art.
