This box, designed to hold a cocktail smoking kit, prioritizes the revelation of detail as a celebration of the objects’ simple beauty as well as a method of making the objects fit within a constrained volume. The botton of the smoking torch can be seen by a reveal with the box closed and serves as a handle to lift the lid. If one views the box from the underside, they would see the smallest part of the smoking dish peeking out, and the dish could actually be utilized without removing it from the box. The lid of the box was charred with the same torch it now houses in the Japanese shou sugi ban style.
